Join us for a Black History Month Event: Children’s Financial Literacy Workshop happening Saturday, February 10, 2024 from 12-2:30PM at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Virginia! (at the Lambs Lane location) This educational event, for grades 3 – 5, hosted by County of Albemarle’s Office of Equity & Inclusion (OEI) and City of Charlottesville celebrating Black History Month will be packed with fun, free food, prizes and more!
We seek to help promote the possibilities and opportunities for sustainable financial knowledge and growth for youth and their families. This event seeks to connect and aspire children with an understanding of financial basics. Each family will also receive a free copy of the book, “Malcolm’s Master Plan to Gazillionaire.”
We’ll hear from the author of “Malcolm’s Master Plan to Gazillionaire,” Janasha “Jay” Bradford, who will read segments from her book, focusing on financial literacy for kids. Learn more about the book and Janasha at www.MahoganyAndFriends.com.
There will be opportunities to learn about helpful resources related to financial wellness from local financial banking representatives. Please note that there is no cost to attend, and parents/guardians are required to be present with their children at all times. We hope you can join us!
